Divas in AI is a growing community committed to increasing women's participation, visibility, and leadership in artificial intelligence across Africa through research, training, and practice. Across the world, women remain significantly underrepresented in tech, making up only 22% of the global AI workforce. In many technical spaces, female participation often ranges between 20–30% due to broader structural barriers and limited access to supportive learning environments.We exist to directly challenge and close that gender gap. We provide women and girls with the cutting-edge technical expertise, confidence, and supportive sisterhood needed to thrive in data science, machine learning, and AI policy. Our ultimate mission is to train 5,000 women in AI by 2030, equipping them with essential leadership skills to become powerful decision-makers and innovators in the modern tech landscape.
